If you think that the new proposed health care changes are going to be a healthy dose of cure all for everyone, it would probably be in your best interest to rethink your position. While it is true some people will benefit greatly from these changes; but the masses, with the government in charge, won’t be any better than the government programs that are in use already.
Think for a moment about the other forms of health care that they already manage. For starters take a look at the Medicare system for the elderly and the way in which this program is mismanaged. With not enough money in the system the government drives itself into a greater deficit each year. In addition to that most of the nation’s elderly have substandard care, can not change doctors because Medicare pays so little, and now they even have to pay out of their own pockets each month for these benefits.
If that isn’t enough to convince you then perhaps you will need to take a closer look at the Veterans and the insurance coverage that the government supplies them with. For the most part their health care consists of pain management with addictive drugs and as a result the majority of the homeless in this country are former soldiers. But don’t be discouraged yet.
To be fair in this analogy, active duty military personnel have sufficiently good health coverage, but any forms of alternative care are off the table and all medical care must go through the proper channels. Any military personnel have better coverage than the elderly and veterans and have access to a full range of government pre- approved services.
Now perhaps you think that a government run, nationalized health care plan for the United States is a good thing, or perhaps you don’t. In any case, when you look at their track record for keeping people healthy you can quickly see that everyone should be a bit concerned about letting the government manage our health care. The changes that they are making will effectively reduce our benefits in many areas while raising our health insurance premiums. And one must wonder what limits they will begin to impose on your health care coverage over time. It really is a major concern that should be on the minds of all Americans as nationalized health care could effective reduce our ability to receive the care we need and the choices that we deserve.
It is smart to shop around when checking for health insurance. Lots of people find that Group Health Insurance is the best for them.
